A Meal Fit For Kings - Last Thursday

Today John and I were officially let loose in the city of Jerusalem. From shops, to markets, to Holy sites – the city was our oyster. After venturing back to many of the Holy sites we visited previously this week, we were ready to try something new. Leaving the beaten path, we wandered into a quaint restaurant serving everything from NY Pizza to Turkish coffee. After noticing that we were the only patrons we immediately hesitated on our selection – Why were we the only ones that were choosing this particular place? Looking past the obvious we decided, what the hay, we'll give it a shot! After ordering, we sat down only to have the owner and two waiters fill our tables full of mystery items to taste. From brown stuff to red stuff to some sort of meat covered in each one thing was certain – we had a decision to make. Did we have enough trust in this restaurant to serving us anything better than the local Fluffy or Frisky? – Probably not…But at this point there was no turning back. As the owner watched we nervously tried each dish only to find out that this was the most incredible, best meal that we'd tasted yet! We ate so much that we could've been rolled out of the front door. To date, I have no clue what in the world we tried choosing to turn a blind eye to the ingredients. What I can say is that I did live through to tell the story and was pleasantly surprised with trying something new.
